According to Adat Shalom’s ace Manna delivery specialist, Elise Caplan, “I thought you would want to know that the the total dropped off at Manna today amounted to 33 lbs from the garden, plus 8 lbs from Fred’s and Cheryl’s gardens. This brings the total to 53 lbs of produce from just the mishnah garden having been delivered to Manna this year (plus about a pound or so that was brought to Open Arms.) Adding Fred’s and Cheryl’s contributions brings the total to 61 pounds!” Move over Derek Jeter!!
The potatoes are Pontiac Red and Yukon Gold. The magic is feeling in the ground with your hands until you find them–some huge, some medium, some small. The total: 11 pounds.
We planted the beets a bit close together so no giant beets. Still we harvested 11 pounds and will have another shot at it.The time is ripe for planting our fall crops that should be ready around Sukkot. Join us on July 31 at 4:30 PM–beets, carrots, onions, etc.
Check out the photos.
