Come to the May 22, 2011 Lag B’omer workshop at 4pm called: Breaking Bread.
Learn about our agrarian roots–which of the 10 plagues we retell at our Pesach seder ruined the barley harvest? What’s an Omer got to do with grain? Why do we have a special blessing just for bread? How do you braid a challah anyway?
Come learn the alchemy of turning wheat into Challah as we engage all of our senses in the art of bread making. Here’s a sample…just to whet your appetite. We will taste homemade challah at the workshop.
Here is a link to the Challah recipe. It was published in Hadassah Magazine in October 1978. This recipe has been adapted and shared by Irma Sheon, Cheryl Kollin, and Phyllis Lerner. Challah_Hadassah 1978
